ORBIT – Modular Productivity Console

A modular hardware ecosystem of physical control surfaces, displays, and sensors designed to create customizable desk productivity tools.

ORBIT is a modular hardware platform that explores the future of physical-digital interaction for productivity and creative workflows. The system is built around a stackable ecosystem of embedded modules — including dials, keypads, displays, and sensor units — connected through a magnetic pogo-pin I²C bus. I designed the system architecture, defined the modular electrical and mechanical interfaces, created hardware block diagrams, and planned embedded communication protocols. The platform combines Raspberry Pi and ESP32-based controllers, OLED and AMOLED displays, and optional peripherals such as thermal printers and environmental sensors. The project focuses on extensibility, clean industrial design, and developer-friendly expansion. It was developed through structured design reviews, storyboards, and engineering justification documents, demonstrating a full product-oriented hardware design process.
